A Good King Who Loved God

2 Kings 18

Today's idea We can choose to love and trust Heavenly Father, like good King Hezekiah.

Long ago there was a king named Hezekiah. He was a good king who loved Heavenly Father with all his heart.

King Hezekiah tried very hard to do what was right. He wanted to make good and kind choices every single day.

He helped his people remember Heavenly Father. He reminded them to pray and to be thankful for all of God's gifts.

King Hezekiah trusted Heavenly Father completely. Whenever he needed help, he knew just who to turn to.

Because he loved and trusted God, King Hezekiah's heart felt peaceful and happy. Heavenly Father was very pleased with him.

You can be like good King Hezekiah. When you choose to love and trust Heavenly Father, your heart feels warm and happy too.

Praying When We Are Worried

2 Kings 19

Today's idea When we feel worried, we can pray to Heavenly Father.

One day King Hezekiah felt worried. Something hard was happening, and he did not know what to do. His heart felt heavy.

But King Hezekiah knew exactly who could help him. Instead of being afraid, he went to Heavenly Father's house to pray.

He knelt down and told Heavenly Father everything that was worrying him. “Please help me,” he prayed. “Please watch over my people.”

Heavenly Father heard King Hezekiah's prayer. He was listening the whole time, and He kept the king and his people safe and calm.

King Hezekiah felt peaceful again. He knew that Heavenly Father was taking care of everything.

When you feel worried, you can pray too. Heavenly Father is always listening, and He loves to help you feel safe and calm.

Heavenly Father Hears a Prayer

2 Kings 20

Today's idea Heavenly Father always hears our prayers.

One time King Hezekiah became sick. He did not feel well at all, and he wanted so much to be better.

So King Hezekiah did what he always did when he needed help. He prayed to Heavenly Father. “Please help me,” he said softly.

Heavenly Father heard every word of King Hezekiah's prayer. He loved the good king and wanted to help him.

And Heavenly Father made King Hezekiah well again! Soon he felt strong and healthy and happy. He even had many more good years to live.

King Hezekiah was so thankful. He knew that Heavenly Father had heard his prayer and had taken care of him.

Heavenly Father hears your prayers too, every time. He is always listening, and He loves you more than you can imagine.

Josiah, the Young King

2 Kings 22

Today's idea Even little ones can love Heavenly Father and choose the right.

There was once a boy named Josiah. When he was still very young, he became the king of his people. That was a very big job for someone so little!

Even though Josiah was young, he had a good and kind heart. He loved Heavenly Father very, very much.

Josiah wanted to do what was right in everything he did. He tried to be gentle, honest, and kind to everyone around him.

He did not think, “I am too little to do good things.” Instead, he chose to follow Heavenly Father every day, right from the start.

Heavenly Father was so happy with young King Josiah. Josiah showed that even little ones can love God and make good choices.

You are little too, and you can love Heavenly Father just like Josiah did. You are never too small to choose the right.

Finding God's Holy Words

2 Kings 22

Today's idea The scriptures are a treasure — Heavenly Father's own words for us.

One day, while workers were busy helping in Heavenly Father's house, they found something very special. It was a holy book — the scriptures!

The scriptures were full of Heavenly Father's own words. But they had been lost and forgotten for a very long time.

The workers hurried to tell young King Josiah. When he heard, he was so happy and excited!

King Josiah listened very carefully as the holy words were read out loud. His heart felt warm as he learned what Heavenly Father wanted his people to know.

Josiah treasured the scriptures like the very best gift. He wanted to remember God's words and share them with everyone.

The scriptures are a treasure for us too. They are full of Heavenly Father's love, and they help us know how to follow Him.

Taking Care of God's House

2 Kings 22

Today's idea We can help take care of Heavenly Father's special places.

Young King Josiah loved Heavenly Father's house, the temple. It was a beautiful, special place where people could feel close to God.

But the temple needed some care. Josiah wanted it to be clean and beautiful again, so people could love being there.

So King Josiah asked kind, hard-working helpers to fix it up. They swept and cleaned and gently repaired everything with care.

The workers were honest and did their very best. Little by little, Heavenly Father's house became beautiful and shining again.

King Josiah was so happy to see the temple cared for. It showed how much he loved and honored Heavenly Father.

We can help take care of special places too — our home, our church, and the temple. When we do, we show Heavenly Father that we love Him.

Following God With All Our Heart

2 Kings 23

Today's idea We can follow Heavenly Father with all our heart.

After King Josiah heard Heavenly Father's holy words, his heart was full of love. He wanted everyone to know and follow God too.

So Josiah gathered his people together. He helped them remember Heavenly Father and all the good things He had taught them.

The people were happy to remember God. Together they promised to love Him and to follow Him with all their hearts.

King Josiah followed Heavenly Father in everything he did — with his whole heart, every single day. He set a wonderful example for everyone.

Heavenly Father was so pleased with Josiah and his people. Their hearts were warm and joyful because they were following God together.

You can follow Heavenly Father with all your heart too. You are a child of God, and He loves you so very much.
