Monday

Trusting God When Things Feel Big

2 Chronicles 14

Today's idea When something feels too big for us, we can trust Heavenly Father to help.

Long ago there was a good king named Asa. He loved Heavenly Father and tried to do what was right every day.

One day something big was coming — so big that King Asa did not know how his little kingdom could handle it all by itself.

But King Asa knew just what to do. He did not worry alone. He prayed to Heavenly Father and asked for help.

“Heavenly Father,” he prayed, “it does not matter if we are big or small, strong or little — You can help us no matter what.”

Heavenly Father heard King Asa's prayer. He gave Asa peace and helped him and his people feel safe.

When something feels too big for you, you can pray like King Asa. Heavenly Father can help with anything, no matter how big it seems.

Let's think: What is something that feels big to you? You can ask Heavenly Father to help.

Tuesday

Choosing to Seek God

2 Chronicles 15

Today's idea When we look for Heavenly Father, we can find Him.

After Heavenly Father helped King Asa, a wise helper came and gave him a special message.

“If you look for Heavenly Father,” the helper said, “you will find Him. He will always be near you when you seek Him.”

King Asa listened carefully. He wanted his whole kingdom to know and love Heavenly Father, not just himself.

So King Asa gathered all his people together. They promised to seek Heavenly Father with their whole hearts.

Everyone was so happy! They sang and celebrated because they had chosen to follow Heavenly Father together.

You can seek Heavenly Father too — through prayer, through the scriptures, and through being kind. When you look for Him, He is always there.

Wednesday

Telling the Truth, Even When It's Hard

2 Chronicles 18

Today's idea We can be brave and tell the truth, even when others want to hear something else.

There was a prophet named Micaiah. He always told the truth, because he loved Heavenly Father and wanted to say only what was right.

One day, some kings wanted Micaiah to say something that was not true. They wanted him to say only happy things, even if they weren't real.

But Micaiah would not do it. “I can only say what Heavenly Father tells me,” he said gently but bravely.

It would have been easier to just say what everyone wanted to hear. But Micaiah chose to be honest instead.

Heavenly Father was pleased with Micaiah because he told the truth, even when it was hard.

You can be brave and honest too, just like Micaiah. Heavenly Father loves it when we tell the truth.

Let's think: Can you think of a time it was hard to tell the truth? What helped you be brave?

Thursday

Our Eyes Are Upon Thee

2 Chronicles 20

Today's idea When we don't know what to do, we can look to Heavenly Father.

One day, King Jehoshaphat learned that some big trouble was coming his way. He felt worried, and he did not know what to do.

So he gathered all his people together at Heavenly Father's temple. They wanted to ask for help.

King Jehoshaphat prayed a beautiful prayer. “We do not know what to do,” he said, “but our eyes are upon Thee.”

That means King Jehoshaphat and his people looked to Heavenly Father for help, just like you might look to your mom or dad when you're not sure what to do.

Heavenly Father heard their prayer. He sent a gentle message: “Do not be afraid. I will help you.”

When you don't know what to do, you can look to Heavenly Father too. Keep your eyes — and your heart — turned toward Him.

Let's think: When you feel unsure, who can you turn to for help?

Friday

Singing and Trusting

2 Chronicles 20

Today's idea We can trust Heavenly Father and even sing praises before we see the answer.

After King Jehoshaphat and his people prayed, they still felt a little nervous. But they chose to trust Heavenly Father anyway.

The next morning, King Jehoshaphat asked some singers to walk out in front of everyone else, singing happy songs of praise to Heavenly Father.

That might seem surprising! But King Jehoshaphat trusted that Heavenly Father would take care of them, so they sang instead of being afraid.

As they sang and praised Heavenly Father, something wonderful happened — Heavenly Father helped them, just like He promised.

King Jehoshaphat and his people felt so thankful. They knew Heavenly Father had heard their prayer and kept them safe.

You can trust Heavenly Father too, even before you see how He will help. You can sing and feel peaceful, because He is always watching over you.

Saturday

Listening With a Humble Heart

2 Chronicles 26

Today's idea Even when we're really good at something, we can stay humble and keep listening.

There once was a king named Uzziah. When he was young, he loved Heavenly Father and worked hard to do many good things for his people.

Heavenly Father blessed King Uzziah, and his kingdom grew strong and happy. Everyone could see how well he was doing.

But after a while, King Uzziah stopped listening to the wise helpers who tried to guide him. He thought he could do anything he wanted, all by himself.

One day he tried to do something that was not his to do, even though kind helpers gently told him not to. That choice made things go wrong.

It's a good reminder that even when we're doing really well, we still need Heavenly Father and wise helpers to guide us.

You can stay humble too, even when you're good at something. Keep listening to Heavenly Father and the wise helpers who love you.

Everyone Is Welcome

2 Chronicles 30

Today's idea Heavenly Father welcomes everyone who wants to come close to Him.

There was a kind king named Hezekiah who loved Heavenly Father very much. He wanted everyone to feel close to God.

King Hezekiah decided to have a special celebration to remember and thank Heavenly Father. He wanted lots of people to come.

So he sent kind messages to families far and near — even to people who did not always do things exactly the same way. “Come and celebrate with us!” he said.

Many families came from all around. Some were shy or unsure at first, but Hezekiah welcomed them all with open arms.

Everyone celebrated together with joy and gladness. Their hearts were happy because they had come close to Heavenly Father together.

Heavenly Father welcomes you too, just as you are. And you can welcome others with kindness, just like good King Hezekiah did.
