Come, Follow Me for Littles

Week of August 10–16, 2026

Job 1–3; 12–14; 19; 21–24; 38–40; 42

One little story for each day of the week — short enough to read together, gentle enough for the very youngest, and true to the scriptures.

A Man Who Loved Heavenly Father

Job 1

Today's idea We can love Heavenly Father with our whole heart, every single day.

Long ago there lived a good man named Job. Job loved Heavenly Father with all his heart.

Job had a big, happy family. He had children he loved, and soft woolly sheep out in the fields, and a warm home full of laughing.

Every morning, Job remembered Heavenly Father. He thanked Him for his family, and he asked Heavenly Father to watch over each one of his children.

Job was kind, too. When someone was hungry, Job shared his food. When someone felt lonely, Job sat with them.

Job did not love Heavenly Father just because he had nice things. He loved Heavenly Father because Heavenly Father is good — and that never, ever changes.

You can love Heavenly Father the way Job did, with your whole heart, every single day.

Friends Who Sat Close

Job 2

Today's idea When someone is sad, we can sit close and stay with them.

One day, some very hard days came to Job.

Job felt sad. He sat down quietly on the ground, and big tears came.

Job's friends heard that he was sad. They walked a long, long way just to be with him.

When his friends found Job, they sat right down beside him. They did not rush him. They did not tell him to stop crying. They just stayed close.

Sitting quietly with someone who is sad is one of the kindest things anyone can do. You do not have to fix it. You do not have to think of something clever to say. You can just stay close.

Heavenly Father stays close to us when we feel sad, too. He never leaves us — not even for one minute.

Ask the Animals

Job 12

Today's idea Everything Heavenly Father made can teach us about Him.

Job said something wonderful. He said, “Ask the animals, and they will teach you. Ask the birds, and they will tell you.”

What can a bird teach us? A bird can teach us that Heavenly Father gives wings for the sky and food for hungry tummies.

What can a tall tree teach us? A tree can teach us that Heavenly Father made strong roots to hold on tight and cool leaves to give us shade.

What can a tiny fish teach us? A tiny fish can teach us that Heavenly Father knows about even the smallest, quietest things.

Job knew that every living thing is held safely in Heavenly Father's hands — every animal, every bird, every little fish, and you.

The whole world is full of gentle reminders that Heavenly Father is real, and that He loves us.

I Know That My Redeemer Lives

Job 19

Today's idea Jesus Christ lives, and He loves us.

Job was still having hard days. But deep down inside his heart, Job knew something that was true.

Job said, “I know that my Redeemer lives!” A Redeemer is someone who saves us and brings us safely home. Job was talking about Jesus Christ.

Even on his saddest day, Job knew that Jesus was real. He knew that Jesus loved him.

In Primary we sing about Jesus, too. When we sing, sometimes our hearts feel warm and happy inside. That warm feeling is the Holy Ghost, Heavenly Father's quiet helper, telling us it is true.

Because Jesus lives, sad things do not last forever. Every hard thing can be made better someday.

Job could not see Jesus with his eyes, but he knew with his heart. You can know it in your heart, too.

Heavenly Father Knows the Way

Job 23

Today's idea Heavenly Father knows exactly where you are and exactly what you need.

Some days, Job felt like he could not find Heavenly Father anywhere. He looked and looked.

Have you ever felt like that? Maybe in a big store, when you could not see your mom or dad for a moment, and your tummy felt wobbly.

Even when Job could not see Him, Heavenly Father could see Job. Job said, “He knows the way that I take.”

Heavenly Father knows your name. He knows the path your little feet are walking on. He knows what makes you giggle and what makes you cry.

You are never, ever lost to Heavenly Father. He is watching over you right now.

So Job kept walking, one day at a time — and Heavenly Father was with him the whole way.

A wide peaceful night sky full of bright warm stars over gentle hills, with a small figure looking up in wonder, soft snowflakes and a calm sea in the distance, awe-filled and cozy.

When the Morning Stars Sang

Job 38

Today's idea Heavenly Father made a big, beautiful world, and He is very powerful.

One day, Heavenly Father spoke to Job. He did not scold Job. Instead, He showed Job something beautiful.

“Where were you,” Heavenly Father asked kindly, “when I made the world? The morning stars sang together, and everyone shouted for joy!”

Heavenly Father showed Job the great big sea, and told it just where to stop. He showed him the snow, tucked away like a treasure, and the rain that gives the grass a drink.

He showed Job the little lion cubs, and the baby birds who open their beaks wide, and the wild goats way up on the mountain. Heavenly Father feeds every single one of them.

Job looked at the big, beautiful world, and he felt very small — and very, very loved.

The same Heavenly Father who made the morning stars sing also made you.

Job Prays for His Friends

Job 42

Today's idea We can be kind and forgiving, and Heavenly Father fills our hearts with joy.

Job talked with Heavenly Father. “Now I know You even better than I did before,” Job said.

Job had learned that Heavenly Father is wise and good, and that He is always close.

Then Job did something very kind. He prayed for his friends — even the ones who had not known the right thing to say to him.

Job did not stay upset with them. He wanted good things for them, and he asked Heavenly Father to bless them.

Job's family gathered all around him — children and grandchildren, laughing and telling stories together in the warm evening light.

Job's heart was full of joy, and he loved Heavenly Father more than ever.
